What a mess this made of Galveston. Looks like a lot of people didn't evacuate.
20' wave completely drowned the downtown.

We relocated from Louisville to Columbus in 1989. This is a collection of thoughts and maybe some opinions (they sometime say that the Pullen's have opinions).

So, what is your take on the stock market? How low will we go? How long will it drop? Are we going into a depression? Who is to blame in your opinion or are we all to blame? Is this the start of the end? You have a blog now, what's your view? Inquiring minds want to know!!! Don't let your readers down. We're waiting....
I'm glad you asked. Any inquiring minds out there should feel free to send a blog and I'll answer any question that is on your mind, especially about the economy.
By this time most people are aware that the loosening of regulations on the mortgage industry was the beginning of this huge problem.
Back in the late 90's when all was well, the Democrats in Congress were insisting that the rules be loosened so ALL people could have a huge house that in some cases they could not afford.
Because money was not a problem the mortgage barons were swift to agree, money was passed out to all who applied, and the housing boom was off and running.
Many Republicans back in 2004 saw the problem coming and tried to get an investigation but nothing happened.
Thus, another of many blunders by our "leaders" in Congress, and they wonder why they have a 4% approval rating.
The market will bounce back. I personally have watched my account lose 30% of it's value in one week (from $50 all the way to $35).
The question we need to answer is "when will the American people dump the current Congress and give someone else a chance"? Anyone, and I mean anyone, could do a better job.
I await your next question knowing you will sleep better now.
You are an insightful man. :) Peacefully sleeping...Mel
